Terms of Service

Welcome to Hey Chewy, a social platform where people share and follow profiles that represent their dogs. By creating an account or using Hey Chewy (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who may use Hey Chewy

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including content posted by any dog profile you manage.

2. Your account

Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep your password secure. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, videos, captions, comments, and other content you post ("Your Content"). By posting, you grant Hey Chewy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display Your Content for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content others have shared or copies retained for legal, safety, or backup purposes for a reasonable period.

You represent that you have the rights to post Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or violate any law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to post or do anything that our Community Guidelines prohibit, including content involving animal cruelty, threats or violence, harassment, hate, sexual content, child sexual abuse or exploitation, or spam. You also agree not to break the law, infringe intellectual property, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, scrape the Service, interfere with its operation, or circumvent security or rate limits.

5. Moderation

We use automated tools and human review to detect content that may violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We may remove content, limit its visibility, or hold it for review. We may report suspected child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, as required by law. If your content is removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal through Help & Support in the app.

6. Gifts and Treats

Hey Chewy includes a virtual "Treats" feature that lets you send and re-send gifts to other users. Treats are granted to you by Hey Chewy at no charge, have no cash value, cannot be purchased, sold, exchanged for money, or transferred outside the Service, and are not refundable. They are a fun engagement feature and not a payout or earnings system. We may change, limit, or discontinue Treats at any time.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hey Chewy disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content posted by others is accurate or appropriate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hey Chewy and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

Hey Chewy is operated from the United States. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally or to rely on your own consumer-protection law. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you cannot waive.
